Annual review plus a partial-year update—not equal-period totals. Unknown-value transactions remain in scope without certifying they are under $100M. Publicly identified activity is a verified minimum, not a comprehensive market census.

2025 Review & 2026 YTD Update

2025 establishes the full-year baseline; 2026 remains a partial-year update. The verified set comprises 9 transactions in full-year 2025 , including Pavement Maintenance’s November acquisition by Sage Surface Partners , compared with 5 identified transactions through September 2026 . Every underlying transaction is listed below. The unequal periods are not presented as a year-over-year growth rate.

The 2025 set spans electrical contracting , HVAC , fire/life safety , AV integration , security systems , framing/construction and pavement maintenance . The 2026 set leans toward specialty mechanical and home-service transactions, including the Pressure Point / Tambr investment and Evergreen add-on .

Platform consolidation connects the two periods. Sage is backed by Trinity Hunt Partners and added PMI to expand into the Pacific Northwest ; SEER acquired Alpine and Associated in 2025. PPR’s acquisition of Evergreen illustrates continued regional platform building in 2026. Buyer fit and post-close expectations remain useful owner discussion topics; activity alone is not a valuation benchmark.

Secondary measure: matching nine-month windows

January–September 2025: 8 identified transactions · January–September 2026: 5. The calculated change is −37.5%, or 3 fewer identified transactions. This applies only to the matching nine-month periods—not to full-year 2025 versus partial-year 2026.

What Was Added for Full-Year 2025

Sage Surface Partners added Portland-based Pavement Maintenance, Inc. on November 20, 2025. PMI provides sealcoating, striping, asphalt and concrete repair, and parking-lot sweeping. Sage is Trinity Hunt Partners’ commercial paving services platform.

One additional core contractor transaction was verified in the fourth-quarter review. A zero in October or December means none was identified in reviewed sources—not proof that no private transaction occurred.

Methodology & Coverage

Headline periods: full-year 2025 (January–December) versus 2026 through September (January–September). Different period lengths; no headline percentage decline or full-year 2026 forecast is calculated.

Secondary comparison: January–September in each year only. The −37.5% result relates exclusively to these matching windows.

Geography: Oregon target headquarters or pre-deal operating base, not acquirer location or Oregon service exposure alone.

Contractor definition: construction, framing, paving, building/system installation, repair and maintenance. Includes AV / low-voltage integration, security installation and fire/life safety. Excludes pure consulting, surveying, managed repair networks, staffing, equipment/product distribution, manufacturing and arboricultural maintenance.

Deal size: retain disclosed values ≤ $100M and all unknown-value transactions. Unknown values are not certified below $100M. Disclosed values above the ceiling are excluded; no implied value is inferred from employee count, revenue or transaction structure.

Date: public announcement, not necessarily closing. Conflicting dates are qualified below. Do not count a closing release as an additional transaction.

Counting: distinct target transactions counted once. A platform investment and later add-on are separate deals; a single purchase of two franchise territories is one. Operating-company mergers are included.

Buyer type: operating-company acquirers are Strategic / Platform, even if backed by sponsors. Direct Tambr investment is Financial / Family Office. No direct institutional PE buyout is classified in these core sets.

Coverage: broad Oregon transaction screens, public discovery and announcement validation. Private and unannounced deals may be missing. Financial terms remain undisclosed or unstated in the reviewed core announcements; no defensible dollar-volume or valuation-multiple comparison is presented.

Date & Classification Qualifications

Alpine: announcement March 17, rather than the database’s March 5 date.

FirePro: buyer website posted March 19; wire release dated March 20. Counted once in March.

Associated: announcement June 10, rather than the database’s June 2 date.

PSI: announced August 12, pending approvals; closed August 21. Counted once in August. Closing confirmation.

Kendu: July 1 merger announcement, with Portland origin and post-merger HQ in Vancouver, Washington. Included on the pre-merger target-origin basis; not classified using the buyer / combined company’s HQ.

Secure Pacific: Portland-based Oregon target in a combined acquisition with Sonitrol Pacific. Counted as one qualifying transaction, not two. Buyer announcement.

PPR: earliest located dated public announcement February 27, followed by a March 1 company-distributed release. No duplicate March or April deal.

PSI’s purchase price was undisclosed. The size ceiling cannot be independently certified for it, EC Electric or other unknown-value transactions. No EBITDA multiple is inferred.

Summit’s BDT & MSD acquisition was announced August 4, with closing expected in Q4 2025. Baird identifies BlackRock LTPC as the sponsor for Summit’s PSI acquisition. Current ownership metadata is not substituted for ownership at announcement.
